The Australian
German Club
As our membership has grown to become more multicultural, so has our events calendar. We have been proud to successfully host vibrant annual events like the Irish Night and the Hungarian Ball, among many others. We look forward to continuing this tradition of celebrating diverse cultures in our future clubhouse.
Following the sale of our Merrimac Clubhouse, our primary goal is to rebuild and grow our membership. We warmly welcome new members, especially from the younger generation, to join us. You are the future of our club, and we are dedicated to creating a community for you to enjoy for years to come.
VISION
To drive sustainable growth bringing people together to celebrate an authentic German cultural experience.
OUR MISSION
The Australian German Club Gold Coast will be a relevant and respected community club on the Gold Coast.
Our History
The German Club has been a cornerstone of the Gold Coast community for nearly five decades, fostering a deep appreciation for German traditions and culture. Originally located in Merrimac, the Club has been a gathering place for those who cherish the rich heritage of Germany, offering a space to celebrate folklore, cuisine, and camaraderie. The late Mr. Arno Schilling, a life member, played a pivotal role in shaping the Club’s identity, crafting intricate carvings that depict old Germanic folklore and adding a unique charm to its atmosphere.
As the Club evolves, it remains deeply rooted in its history while looking forward to an exciting future. The new premises in Mudgeeraba will carry forward the legacy of the German Club, complete with lofty ceilings to rehang the beloved chandelier and a design that honors its storied past. This next chapter ensures that the German Club will continue to be a beacon of German culture and community on the Gold Coast for generations to come.
Join the Australian German Club and become part of a vibrant, multicultural community with a rich heritage and an exciting future!
